Join Youth Advisory Board

The Victoria Foundation Youth Advisory Board (VFYAB) is composed of 10-12 Newark young people. It is a two-year development incubator to enhance their personal, civic and professional skills while collaborating with Victoria Foundation's staff to advise, co-create, and decide on elements of the foundation's strategy and grant making.

Qualifications

At a minimum, the ideal candidate should have the following qualities:

• A freshman or sophomore in a Newark high school or home school
• Reside in Newark, New Jersey
• Willingness to listen, learn, and question
• Passionate about community work
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Selection Process

A limited number of candidates will be selected for interviews. These candidates will be contacted before November 15th using the phone and email information submitted on their application form.

Candidates who are interviewed will be notified of final decisions in December 2021.
